Immediately after the merger of Citibank India business with Axis Bank on 15 July, my Citibank Platinum credit card running for last 20+ years stopped working for unknown reasons. Transactions were declined on the POS machines and card was rejected by shopping apps as "Expired card" whereas card is still valid until 1/28.
In the last 15 days I have reached out to a dozen people in Axis Banks customer service from call center to Twitter and Email to Nodal Officers. The only thing they keep telling me is "Sir everything is fine at our end, but we dont know why your card is not working".
The worst part is that they neither know what the real problem is nor anybody is reaching out to me with any alternative solution.
Earlier this year I applied for an Axis Bank Rupay Credit Card. Surprisingly they called me at the branch for KYC whereas I hold a salary account in Axis Bank. When I visited the branch there was nobody to handle my case and treated me very disrespectfully. Not even PSU bank employees treat customers like this.
Verdict: Ill soon reach out to Banking Ombudsman to complaint against Axis Bank closing down my 20 year old credit card without a reason and fault of mine. And then Ill close my salary account in Axis Bank and end all relations with this stupid bank.
