New Age Banking With Vintage Attitude

I am an account holder with the Mysore branch for the past 6 years. Every time I walk into any branch for some service some sweet talking youngster will canvas for deposits. But talk of service and they shrug their shoulders with a smile. I shifted to Mumbai last year and applied for change of address.

I approached the  Borivali(W)  branch(near IC Colony) and it took the bank one month of piecemeal requirements to get the work done. After all that, the address was printed wrongly and I had a tough time chasing the courier service chaps to get my ATM card. I sent a complaint and it got forwarded "this place/that place" and I gave up. A few days back I went to the same Borivali branch to seek a personal loan in connection with my daughter’s marriage. They connected me to some chap named Deepak who did not seem to know a word of English. He told me bluntly that I cannot get a loan without even perusing any of my records( I am an account holder with the branch, a deputy zonal manager with a public sector insurance company having salary credit with this bank, and this is the reply I got!!). He suggested I apply for a credit card, he will "look into" my request for loan. He even remarked that if I already had a loan with Axis bank, it would have been easy to give me a loan!! How absurd. I applied online on 29/11/2012 - I got an automated reply with lead number 1356980 that they will get back to me in TWO WORKING DAYS.

Today seven working days have passed with no response from them. Even during the worst times of banking I have not seen such arrogance from public sector banks. Many of my colleagues have only bad words about this bank. Today public sector banks are definitely much better and above all accountable for their actions. Thank you  Axis Bank  for such rotten service, you have succeeded in making the public sector banks look good now.
