I have been a loyal customer of Axis Bank for several years and always paid my credit card bills on time. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been extremely disappointing, and I feel its important to share it so that other customers are aware.
Heres what happened:
My credit card expired in May 2025.
Since I had shifted to a new address, I updated my details, but the replacement card was sent to my old address. Naturally, I never received it.
Despite this, Axis Bank generated statements and applied charges including a minimum payment demand and late fee charges of around ₹;1000 on a card I never even received or activated.
When I called customer care and explained everything, they simply told me to visit the Jhansi branch, saying they could not help as the card was inactive.
This left me shocked. Why should a customer be penalized for a card that was delivered to the wrong address and never in their hands?
Why This Matters
It shows poor handling of address updates and lack of accountability.
Instead of resolving the issue, the burden was pushed back on me as a customer.
Extra charges were applied unfairly, creating stress and inconvenience.
A Word of Caution
If you are considering Axis Bank for your credit card or banking needs, please be very careful. Always double-check your details, monitor your statements closely, and be prepared that even genuine issues may not get prompt resolution.
I have raised an official escalation against the Jhansi branch and will continue to fight for a fair resolution. Until then, I would strongly advise new customers to think twice before choosing Axis Bank for their credit card needs.
