*DEAR AXIS BANK!
Instead of getting Deepika Padukone for your marketing campaign and spending millions on these activities like this #DeepikaforAxis, it would be really better to provide SERVICE to your CUSTOMER, to LISTEN to your CUSTOMERS, to ask your Customer service to PICK up calls of your customers, to INFORM customers about things that can screw up their life.
I am sharing this with everyone who banks with AXIS BANK or plans to bank with AXIS BANK to tell them about the horrible experience I faced. I sincerely hope no one has to experience what I experienced.
I had never thought my bank ie AXIS BANK could turn my trip abroad to a complete nightmare. Now I think of it, I had got the preview of the poor service and horrible attitude towards customer in from beginning of my trip itself. But I would have never imagined this would prove to be the biggest mistake of my life to trust this bank.*
READ COMPLETE REVIEW: https://facebook.com/notes/amandeep-singh/how-axis-bank-turned-my-europe-trip-to-a-nightmare/10152537987843674 First of all - I went to Axis Bank branch in Gurgaon on MG road for getting my Demand Draft for Visa Application Fee. I was told by the customer care woman that I need to give them a cheque or I can order it online. I was quite happy that I could get a DD made just through internet banking. And what a terrible experience was that. The phone banking customer care said something, response of email said something, and the best my branch - Ring Road, Lajpat Nagar 4 never picks any phone calls. Anyhow, I got my DD made somehow just 1 day before the last date. All forgotten! As part of preparing my finances, I called Axis bank customer care to tell them about my Travel abroad and that would I be able to use my Debit/ATM card - I was ASSURED that it will. Also - I rechecked on website about their debit cards, and ofcourse it said Visa debit cards work over million outlets/ATMs etc around the globe and all. So here I am in Paris enjoying my trip, and after couple of days when my cash ran out - my went to ATM - and it DID NOT work. I was shocked. 1. I wrote them an email and as usual waited for the reply 2. I asked my brother back in India to call the customer care - he could not reach them for 2-3 hours as no one picks the calls on customer care. When he spoke to them - it was a SHOCKER! He was told that since I had got my card issued after December 2013 - all the cards issued after this month are only DOMESTIC DEBIT Cards! Please check with your branch. 2 of my friends called the customer care, one of my friends even went to the branch to check - but solution. 3. My branch as usual never picks up any calls. The RM never replies emails(In fact I dont know who my RM is?) 4. In email response - I was simply told - Nothing can be done! 5. I wrote an email to the Nodal office which called me after almost a week apologizing and asking if they can courier me a forex card - I told them I would be back to India by the time to send me anything. Basically - they could do NOTHING to help me! 5. Anyways I asked my family to send my some money and then we realized you cannot send money from India to anywhere on Western Union or Moneygram Just imagine my situation - You have money in you account and THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCESS your money. I was literally BANGED UP ABROAD with no money( I still AM). Axis bank did not care to tell my card was domestic? Or atleast tell me when I called them? 6. As a last resort - I used Outward Remittance option from my Axis account to a friends account in Europe. It has been 7 days and there is no money, although the money was deducted from my a/c on same day. Where as when a friend did the same for his ICICI Bank account using his outward remittance option - the money was in my friends account in 2 days only. I really want to sue them for the harassment, mental torture and inconvenience they have caused me - but I doubt if it will change them. I hope Facebook and Social Media atleast helps all the people to to be educated and beware of banks like AXIS BANK!
