One day I was passing by Jayangar 4th Block, Bangalore, then I spotted UTI Bank.
I just walked in to find out some details, and I had walked out with a term deposit in hand. The staff and the speedy service are so good that I ended up having yet another account with them the following week. The staff though wanted Identity information mandatorily, they gave me a choice to submit the necessary proof at a later date so that I wouldnt be stopped and disappointed from opening an account.
The bank is less crowded, the staff gives you personalized attention so that you dont have to spend too much of your time. Most of its ATMs are almost free unlike Citibank ATMs where there are almost always long queues.
But I feel that the staff should explain the pros & cons of an account to a customer at the time of opening. The banks website https://utibank.com does nt carry enough information. The website needs a lot of improvement.
The staff does not seem to be knowing the banks branches network and their locations.
The bank has satellite links to its main office in Mumbai but the link is damn slow, some times, results in delayed transactions. I hope this happens only ocassionally.
On the whole, UTI Bank is a good bank to count on.
The bank offers probably the higherst rates of interest on term deposits.
