I hold a six year old savings bank account and I have seen the bank improve its banking facilities and has now become one of the better ones. I hold savings account in other banks - ICICI and HDFC.
But UTI gives me the best service. Phone banking is good. Has excellent network of ATMs. In fact, I have 3 ATM accessible from my house (nearby ATMs) and three near my office. Even if sometimes on ATM breaks down or runs out of cash (sometimes technology break down does happen - you have to bear with it!) I am not stuck like it happens with HDFC.
Plus customer base of UTI is as much as the staff can handle. Unlike ICICI, you are not greeted with uncocerned and overworked staff. Staff in UTI is in proportion to the bulk of customers they have made. Earlier, 5-6 years ago there were few customer care executives. Now they have increased their staff and they can easily talk to each and every customer to their satisfaction.
Ulike ICICI and HDFC, staff here is willing to help you. You dont stand in a queue and wait for your turn only to be told that please go to such and such person or counter to have your work done. UTI has separate May I help you counter - in short a receptionist, who directs you to a right person. Otherwise also, most of the staff is capable of doing all kinds of work from fixed term deposits to balance enquiry to whatever you want.
Then they have excellent - albeit a little slow - internet banking connectivity. Because of which I didnt have to visit my branch for past 2 years! I must say, if you are looking forward to a convinient banking service, do think of employing UTI! :) I would say its one of the best.
