I bought TATA INDIGO GSX, after canceling my booking for swift(waited two months), I was looking for other car in the same price band. Getz & indigo was the other last two options for me. I dont believe in Hyundai products as this company is cheap in marketing tactics and products dies after two years. I mean to say Hyundai products are costly to maintain after two years. This feedback I got from finance ppl who gave me car loan. Well, lets start my story with TATA. I went B.U. Bhandari Showroom in Pune and inquire about Indigo.
On that day I got the tech specs and everything from sales person. I dint like the interior finish and safety standards. As still SWIFT was in my mind. Later, I got the call from Sales MGR of B.U.Bhandari and he told me that a new varient is gonna to come tomorrow with new features. Perhaps with ABS....but later he confirmed that ABS is not with that model. He asked me to come showroom to see the vehicle and send me a SMS in late night. Good marketing skills...i admire him for his dedication.
Next day, it was Sunday and rain was going on. Pune was on flood alert so we were resting in home. I got a call from showroom to see the new vehicle but I refused to come as it was raining, they said that they will send someone to pick us from our home. I said yes. Well, we reached the showroom and vehicle was on display and 4-5 ppl were cleaning it. It was just like a WAR...they were trying to make it shine and clean like anything. My Wife & myself both like the vehicle and its features but I was bit disappoint with ABS & EBD things. Also, no airbags with this but TATA export same car with all those features. Why not for Indians? Spl if you are giving this Luxury model? Anyway, on that day I met 3-4 ppl from different dept (sales, finance, accessories, MGR). They all explained me in detail with respective areas. I was impressed with that as I was not expecting this kinda professionalism from them.
This showroom has pretty organized work culture. I decided to buy Indigo and got it in week time (i insist for that else it was ready on the same day). They performed the pooja & later I went also temple.
First two days I was busy to understand the car functionality. Though I got a tech demo from sales person but it is wise to read manual & understand car function properly. Afterthat I went to showroom to collect the papers and got my invoice & accessorries papers with RC book. Later I notice that they had given me different central lock, which I selected, and there was some confusion about it. Anyway, I dint got the bad thing but it was not expected.
I did a QA of my car & find out that one power windows button was not on, map reading bulb, left front light bulb was not operational. So, TATA is not doing quality testing before delivering the products. Though, it was not major issue & I get it done from wakad service station. This service station is very big & very very much organised. I was again surprised with TATA. You will receive calls from service centre later & they take your feedback about service quality. Excellent work !
Now the bad part comes - (don’t do these from dealers)
Dont go for paint protection & filming from dealer. I am not happy with (waxoyal) wax coating, as car is not shining what I was expecting.
Dont go for filming also. I asked for V-cool but they said lumex/luminis (dont know exact name) is much better than it.
All TATA dealers promote petrol version, so do your homework before making decision abt petrol/diesel. wait for crdi indigo/indica.
Rear spoiler body quality is not good (shape is uneven), mine is GSX and this color is unique so I dint have any other option.
