Baa Bahu and Baby (BBB)
It is one of the best serials in Star Plus after Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai in Star One. It comes every Friday, Saturday & Sunday night at 10 pm (half hour show). Initially I didn’t think that it would pick up so much as it is shown on the weekends and contradictory to the usual norms followed by Channel & Serial producers to show serials (soap operas) only from Monday to Thursday.
This serial is a mixture of everything There is comedy, drama along with Saas-Bahu saga. I love it more than the Ekta Kapoor serials where all the Bahus are either Sati Savitris or Vamps …plus all of them do Make-up to an unbelievable extent. I just cannot imagine to put so much pancake in everyday life. Maybelline, Loreal, Lakme and many more are minting money because of them. Kamolika of kasuti Zindagi ki and Sudha Chandran have introduced Eye Shadow Glitters / new colours, and Bindis in the industry. Here, in BBB the Bahus are shown very realistic and natural…they do not dress up in skimpy clothes (especially the Strapless / Spagetti strapped blouses). They drape sarees in Gujarati style.
It is about a Gujarati joint family. One important character is “Baby” she is a very beautiful girl and intelligent too but she is handicap.
Ba is the Mother, who runs the house. She is the sole decision maker, a level headed person, a caring mother, a strict mother too. She believes in RULES. All are scared of her but respect and love her too.
Gattu is the best and cutest character in the serial. He is very sweet. A bit slow to understand things. He is a grown up man but mind of a child. For his birthday he requests the family members for jeans pant. All the brothers don’t help him except one –Subodh …he agrees to buy him jeans as he loves Gattu very much.
BBB potrays average middle class scenerio. Everybody’s struggle to live life and enjoy each day as it comes. I love the serial and hence will recommend all of you to watch it too….
