Baahubali is a 2015 Indian epic film, written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni. It features an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Rana, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles, and Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nassar, Adivi Sesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sudeep in crucial roles. The film is the most expensive production in the history of Indian cinema.
Sivudu(Prabhas) is heir apparent to the kingdom of Mahishmati. To save his life, his mother Devasena(Anushka Shetty) takes him over the hill and he is raised by the tribals. His father Amarendra Bahubali(Prabhas in double role) has been killed by his cousin. Sivudu climbs the mountain and by the waterfall finds a rival warrior Avantika(Tamanna Bhatia), who wishes to rescue the Queen. They fall in love and Sivudu vows to rescue the queen. He also wishes to avenge his father’s murder. How he goes about it and fights with villain Bhallala Deva(Rana Daggubati) is a spectacular war that takes one’s breath away.
