My son was 2 1/2 when we decided to put him into a playschool and on scouting around the Kondapur area, narrowed down to Bachpan. We completed one full year of pre-school before moving him to another school for Nursery as in our minds we have been made to believe that Nursery is the class when most full blown schools get their major student intake.
PROS:
very cost effective as compared to other playschools
good curriculum - whilst I was not expecting anything of study, our major requirements were for the kid to develop social skills, they did have a PLAN and not do things ad-hoc which was refreshing.
very friendly staff - teachers / ayaas / principal all were extremely friendly and took care of kids
helped develop social skills and speech - my son couldnt speak much before playschool. Was able to make basic sentences and sing rhymes / songs.
Daily update - diary has entry every day of what was done
very cute baby gym. I dont know if they ever use it for kids, but sure looks cute.
Audio / visual room -
Events - Did have regular events due to festivals etc.
CONS:
This is a house converted to school, even though its brightly painted with murals there are certain features that should have been sorted before it was declared as school. For example, there is a small step in the common area which would appear to be put as it was intended to demarcate the car parking in the house. Now invariably kids miss the step whilst playing and fall down. My son missed the step and banged his head against a pillar which again is inappropriately placed near the step. At the very least all pillars should be padded as this area is designated play area.
School dress - Ok it does look cute, but having a dress for playschool is really overdoing it.
