After hearing the fame of this age old mecca of kebabs and other non-veg food, we arrived here to try this place out once. It is located in a nondescript lane near the Taj Mahal, Churchgate. It mostly caters to takeaway- those who wish to eat have to stand by the road and eat - no sitting area as such. But the regulars do not complain.
They have two separate counters - non-veg and veg, I believe. The counters appeared to be mostly clean and hygienic, some of the cooks had gloves on and all of them were continually at work - such is the popularity of the place.
We got two rolls - Mutton Boti Kebab roll and Chicken Bhuna roll and one kebab - their famous seekh kebabs. We got the chicken seekh kebab. The Mutton Boti roll was very chunky and chewy and slightly salty - didnt like it much. But the chicken bhuna roll was awesome. So were the kebabs - only I felt it had gotten slightly crusty at the surface in some places due to over cooking. But majority of takeaways we noticed were for kaleji fry, bheja fry and stuff eaten with the laccha parathas and rice too. Non veg lovers must try this place. For town, the prices are too good.
