MUSIC REVIEW
BADHAI HO BADHAI…….IF MUSIC IS THE FOOD OF LOVE……
Being honest to the title , its time for celebration. Just relish.
Badhai ho…… , .presented by the self proclaimed showman of the bollywood Subhash Ghai s banner Mukta arts , is a debuntant joint effort of Anil Kapoor and the director Satish Kaushik.
Bottomline. BHB is a thoroughly enjoyable fare by Anu Malik. It is a fine effort by an otherwise overworked and reckless composer who has lately disappointed music lovers (Ab ke baras , Awara Diwana Pagal). Here he has left no stone unturned in committing 100% to the album , springing up a breezy score which entertains young and old alike. The compositions are positively allevated by Javed akhtar who is now a branded name in the celebraties circle a la Late Anand Bakshi.
The musical score is simply like the sweet fragrance of the first monsoon shower , like the rituals of a typical Indian wedding . Its about togetherness , family ties , love , bonding , caresses , sacrifice and above all …happiness and bliss in toto. The entire credit for creating such an amazing aura of happiness goes to some meaningful , easily understandable and magical lyrics by numero uno Javed akhtar and Anu Malik who has incredibly presented through his various rich and softcore compositions both racy and bearing a semi-classical touch.
To illustrate , just log on to Raag Ban Ke beautifully rendered by the seasoned Alka Yagnik and the pop maestro Shaan. It is undoubtedly once in a lifetime track. Masterly done, it is a rare display of brilliant music , subtle singing
and amazing words. Exploring the myths , mystery and confessions of mutual love , this song is a lovely creation where Alka steals the show with a thunder.
The title track is a tribute to a typical Indian marriage , family ties and togatherness. Describing the relationships and rituals in elaboration , this track , sung by supremely gifted Udit Narayan is a likable one which could be the first choice of the marriage season. The entire effort easily makes inroads to your
heart.
Jogan Jogan performed by Preeti pinky and Kunal , though a straight lift from maliks earlier works (Yaarana) is a peppy , mastbhara score which is highly
enjoyable. It could be a treat to watch on the big screen.
Teri zindagi me repeated thrice is the signature song of the album. Alka , with her high pitched vocal chord is simply enchanting. Giving her the
company is K K , making the composition worth hearing innumerable times. Experimental music and simple lyrics could take it to top of the TRP charts.
Thero Zara , Dil bata and Dil wich are fine specimen of Sonu nigams histronics. Though pale in comparison with the rest , these tracks go well
with the peppy mood of the album.
All in all , BHB is lovable soothing collection of some homely songs.
ENJOY!
