Bageecha

After finding the famed Khau Galli of Ghatkopar closed in the afternoon (the vendors set up stalls only in the evenings).

It was more by accident than by choice that we ended up in Bageecha.... They happened to have an unlimited Gujarati Thali on Sundays...

(Non AC: INR 300 & AC: INR340)

Decent stuff.... Nothing fancy... Simple but good...

Following is the spread in the Thali:

  1. Jaljeera (with boondi): 3.5/5

  2. Kuchumber Salad: 2.5/5

  3. Tamarind chutney: 3.5/5

  4. Green Chutney: 2.5/5

  5. Pickle: 2.5/5

  6. Daal: 3.5/5

  7. Kadhi: 3.5/5

  8. Semi Undhiya: 2.5/5

  9. Vaal: 4/5

  10. Aloo Rassa: 4/5

  11. Paneer Capsicum: 2.5/5

  12. Dhokla: 4/5

  13. Phool Kachori: 4.5/5

  14. Chapati/ Poori: 3.5/5

  15. Peas Rice: 3/5

  16. Basundi: 3.5/5

  17. Gulab Jamun (served cold): 3/5

  18. Puranpoli: 4.5/5

  19. Chaas: 3.5/5

  20. Papad: They forgot to serve & we forgot to ask...

And they serve oodles of ghee generously when asked for..

And everything including desserts are unlimited...

We requested for fried green chilli, and though the waiter said no but the manager intervened and promptly arranged it for us...

So fairly attentive service...

Only missing thing was the staple Gujarati Khichadi (they had only peas rice)....

One downside is that they have a common loo for ladies & gents....

FINAL VERDICT:

Ambience: 2.5/5

Food: 3.5/5

VFM: 4/5

Service: 4/5

Location: 3/5
