I had a similar experience recently .I have a health policy with bajaj Allianz for the past 14months or so which was taken as soon as we returned to India.Recently on my trip to chennai had a discomfort in chest and on getting admitted to a hospital was diagnized as heart ailment and adviced angiogram for which the hospital applied for approval from bajjaj (for Rs 50000)which was given.after the Angiogram the doctor adviced by pass surgery ASAP for multiple blockages when Bajaj was approached for approval they refused approval and also canceleed earliar approval and no reasons were given except some blah blah to cover themselves saying I can apply again later on etc.
On contacting the agent I got the same reply you may apply lateron.Anyway I paid for my surgery .i was lucky I could do that with out wasting time .now I am home and recovering but the bad taste in my mouth is still lingering.what is the use of health Insurance if its not honoured ON TIME .If I didnt have resourses I might have to cancel the or postpone the surgery with potential fatality.
I dont want to approach bajaj to just pay my bill I want them punished hard so that they dont do it to some other unfortunate consumer who may not be as lucky as I was .
I would like to go to consumer court how do I do it do I need to appoint a lawyer ?how long does it take for these cases to be settled if it years I will drop it now itself.
Can any one well informed advice me
