Bajaj does a Pulsar here.

Truly!Bajaj does it again. It seems to have learnt from its mistake(The Eliminator!). The Eliminator was a failure in most aspects and it had to go no doubt. But Bajaj had to stay in the ultra premium market to counter Karizma. And just then the R&D guys spin magic, the DTS-i is born. Bajaj has an idea now. What do they do? They rip- off the old engine from eliminator’s chassis. Fix the DTS-i , remove the Kawasaki badge, paste their own and , lo and behold! the Avenger is born. But let me tell you , the new machine is not a bit like its predecessor.Lookswise all’s same but the difference is in its heart. All of us know how big a phenomenon DTS-i engines are . And Bajaj makes sure it does’nt dissapoint us with the Avenger.Seating and handling were never a problem and they remain as they were, good. The new engine has added a few more horses to the machine. And I am not going to discuss the mileage(You just ca’nt ask for that from a 180 cc engine). Honestly I was dissapointed with the instrumentation as I was also with the eliminator. No fuel gauge guys, and no tacho. For a bike with a 180 cc you would surely want to know how much you are revving, dont you.Gas filled shocks add delight to the ride. As I said before, ride and handling are never going to be an issue with this machine. GearBox will. Man! Why dont these guys understand that bikes run on gearboxes.Good gearboxes. Bajaj seems to have simply neglected this area outright. They always seem to have some problem with these 1-Down 4-Up Boxes. The Pulsar 180 had it(and it still has). All in all a good return. Will get decent sales for Bajaj.I sincerely hope they think seriously about the gearbox quality in the near future.A decent comeback for the cruiser. And oh yes the biggest difference, the price. At sixty thousand bucks its a raw deal. A nearly 30k difference from eliminator. And the hero?DTS-i , who else?
