Jus wanted to share my opinion on the Beast on the road.
I m one of the Proud owners of great great Bajaj Avenger.
its going to be a generic Layman’s review so techie’s forgive me....
I got this Red beast last month and this review is after my first Service obviously after 1000 Kms.
now the Crux.
Comfort:
You really really feel like god to drive this bike. but its little hard for ladies in the pillion coz of the
rear seat obviously u can remove it. and for the worst roads in chennai you cannot feel much better
in any other vehicle. and the feedbacks I got from my friends is they fell like driving a car in all means.
Fuel Consumption :
Can you ask for anything more than 57 Kms after first service from a cruiser. unbelievable rite? but its true. I ride almost 35 kms everyday in my beast. even my friends hero Honda Splendour (the most Fuel efficient bike) is giving only 55-60 Kms on average. Go for Shell petrol after ur first service it really increases by atleast 4 K/L.
Engine Sound:
Sexy sound bajaj has come up with for Avenger. its really a soft music in the air while you drive the beast.
Pride:
I had lot of comments from allaround me. Couple of them were excellent and I have quoted those.
I park my vehicle in a 10X10 parking lot at my home which is closed by a grill gate:
Neighbour’s comment on that: "Your Bike looks like a Lion in Cage"
Colleague in my Office : "I feel like driving a Hyundai Santro while driving your Bike"
my friend came from US to visit me and he looked at my beast and said..
"This is one of the models from Harley davidson" obviously in looks.
and asusual in all the signals: about the price, make, Mileage etc.....
most of my colleagues envy me for this bike as I m the only person in a company of 1000 to have
this Red beast.
Safety:
Broad tyre gives you the maximum roadgrip possible and the power is made safe by this tyres. excellent manuevering in the chennai roads. Brakes are the best ones with good adjustments.
little skiddy in the wet roads but it happens in all the vehicles.
Extras:
This beast comes with a automatic ignition which will turn off the electric start if the gear is not in neutral. excellent idea to avoid mishandling of the gear box and the self motor.
Parking lites I think this is the first bike in india with parking lites. excellent idea coz, once I had to stop my vehicel in the middle of moving traffic as I dropped my briefcase. my beast was standing with the park lites on like a car.
Can you ask for anything else to own this friendly beast..
so if you plan for a bike I think this beast avenger is the best choice for all - collegeates, staffs, family etc....
even my dad felt great with this beast. but for people looking for sports type vehicle this is not your cup of tea coz this one is a calssical style.
