My first review :) read a lot before buyin this bike.
I own a red Avy 180 for 2 yrs now!!!!! done 31K kms on it...
And no need to kick it to start it;;; :) coz I nvr used it for 2 yrs! self srt rocks!~! most stable bike you can ride in India.. best brakes, , best head lamps, , , crome needs bit of care... got chain set replaced once, , front disc pads twice, rear brake pads once, , , 2 clutch wires...
Took it for a long ride to Shimla from Delhi... 350kms... one day flat!! :)
it matched to other Bullet companions... also faired much better in terms of brking and fuel efficiency. This bike nvr blinked...
i ride it in Delhi traffic.. so patience is virtue... let the red light go green... I always win the traffic light grand prix! :)
It generaly tops out at 115km/hr.. still no vibrations as such, , , , but ride it at 70km/hr and see 100ccs left gasping.!
I still get ppl askin for fuel efficiency... why mate? buy a 100kmpl bike thn!
I get between 35-40 kmpl... good enough.. for me atlst...
Biggest thing I rue is:: No Engine cut"!!! I need to put it in gear and release clutch to kill engine... :(
but this problem is rectified in new Avy... I wonder, , did Bajaj guys forgot about placing it before?
Gears are nvr a good aspect of Bajaj... it reflect on Avenger too.. if you graduate from Honda.. ull feel the Indianess in finding the neutral and also gear slips happen often... :P
keep ur crome well polished or you wnt recognise ur bike after some time!! hehe
it saved me from many high speed accident situations... it remains stable at high brking... but plz use both brks.. use front more often than rear for best bike control... a locked rear wheel will cause skid and loss of balance.. if you use front more and rear, bike will give you best breaking result.
DO NOT brk on loose gravel... this bike will skid in every possible way!
rear seat: though have back rest... is not comfortable..
rear suspension could have bed bit more stiff to give speed.
A No fuss cruiser... no competition in its class...
thunderbird? marry a mechanics daughter... :)
Happy riding :)
