Hi, this is sandeep from bangalore.got my avenger a year back and she is going well.did 4 trips to chennai and back and also one to mysore.she hold pretty well at high speeds-80 kms to 100 kms as long as the roads are not too bumpy.she tends to lose her line a bit then.milage is 45 kms per litre if you maintain speeds at 50kms.i use shell petrol the the difference is there.also I fill the tank full.no filling one litre at a time.iam 5 feet 9 inches so the pains do set in after an hour but thats ok.i did do a 6 hours ride non stop.but if you happen to be taller than I suggest you go for the bullet.
in the city she is fine but the turning circle is too wide so you might have a problem in traffic.the rear shocks are not upto the mark exspecially with a pillion they bottom up easy.plus that rear seat is a bloody pain.not for your girlfriends unless you want her to dump you.
looks are good but the chrome on the fuel tank is painfull for the eyes when you ride in the afternoon as you have the sun in your eyes.
brakes are good, exspecially the front disc but the rear needs a bit more feel.
my dad had a small accident with it and the front disc callipers, the rear brake pedal and the foot peg were badly damaged.also the fork was a bit bent.the total bill came to 3000 rs.
but she is back in good health.
the headlight is good.and same with the idiot lights though they are not visible in the afternoons.
the gears are poor exspecially comparing to the honda unicorn(my other motorcycle).this I feel is the avengers biggest let down.getting the neutral is a pain.
she pulls well from low gear and she does have good torque
since she sits pretty low you will find a lot of scratches on the fuel tank due to parking.
you might also find oil leakages aroind the gear box area and on the rear wheel due to the open chain.in fact I find oil specks right on the back of my shirt.
the mirrors vibrate at high speeds, in my case the right one.
overall she is good motorcycle.good for long rides.i like the engine growl, though since she is a low slung bike you need to be care with speed breakers exspecially when you have a pillion.i wish she would go a bit faster but so far iam fine with her top speed.she is happy cruising at 70 kms and seems to go on for the whole day.
ps-does anyone know where I can get a good pair of saddle bags, not leather please.cant afford those.
