I had purchased an 180 CC Avenger 10 months back at Adyar, Chennai. It was the bike I had wished for and mainly for its sylish looks. I had to wait nealy 3 weeks for my order to be cleared. I was totally happy with the vehicle performance in terms of smooth ride.
Driving in heavy traffic was really troublesome and I had to prod with my feet to control the vehicle. Also the usage of the vehicle was very less as I was already using my car for long trips. Couple of months back, I had used the bike for long trips. I had travelled more them 40km 2-3 times and I started to get a sharp pain on my shoulders. When I consulted the doctor, I was diagonised with muscle tear on my left shoulder! I couldnt lift my left arm for nearly 10days. Later after a month again.
I had made the same travel and my muscle tore again! I had to sit and think what was the cause along with my friends. Then we found out the problem is with the manufacturing defect in Avenger. The front fork is far and so independent from the rest of the body that we need to apply a lot of strength to control the handlebar. After a long decision making, I had to literally sell off the vehicle on the 8th month itself! I have replaced Avenger with Honda Activa and I have driven 10 times more then on Avenger and I have not faced any problem as of now.
I am not sure if anyone else have faced the same problem. I am a well built person with good height and I shouldnt have faced that problem. My health record is clean in every aspect. I am sure Bajaj will not answer my questions until unless there are more cases like me. Please note that I am not trying to discourage Bajaj or any other bike here. I still admire Avenger when ever I happen to see someone driving past me. Let me know if any of you guys are facing such problems.
