This is my first time I am posting my review for my bike kawasaki caliber 115. I am driving this bike since 4 years & have done 26000 kms. my average running is around 50 kms a day in the city traffic all the time. i had purchased this bike in 2003 & when the market was for splendor & passion, almost all my friends stopped me from buying this as they were not sure abt this product launched by bajaj & also people had complaints regarding the mileage part of it. but I had decided my mind & was sure about my decesion for buying this bike.
the bike is really smooth. noiseless engine, smooth gear box, well built & good in mileage. I am still getting around 65 kmpl in todays traffic from this 4 year old bike. the looks are no so attractive specially the front fairing.
i hardly remember having done any major repairs on my bike. only the regular oil changes ( every 3000 kms with 20w40 oil only as recommended by the manufacturers). changing the brake shoes front & rear after 5000 kms. I have changed the battrey recently, that means after 4 years ( the battrey life was very good) fitted original exide battrey. chain spoket has been changed after 25000 kms. the main heart of the bike, i.e the engine, I have never ever looked at it, never replaced any clutch plates, timing chain, tapet settings, nothing is required even today, the sound is simply superb with a great mileage 65 in traffic with excellent pick up
if I calculate my overall expenses I have spend hardly rs 3000 totally including servicing & oil changes, spare parts, maintenance in 4 years. the tyres are still good & wud easily run for 2 more years.
i usually drive my bike between 50-60 kmph & hence the engine is still in its best condition. the max I have taken it upto 90 kmph on highway without much effort.
hence in all aspects I feel like saluting my bike for providing me such a good service for last 4 years & without having given any breakdown whether day or night.
although there are many new bikes coming in the market & I would wish to buy one, may be a apache rtr but would always keep this bike with me always.........
