Bajaj CT 100 V/s TVS Star

Hi Everyone,

I own Bajaj CT 100 and here is one comparison for you all, which I could find on net (courtsey Autocar india) and reviewed before deciding for Bajaj CT100 over TVS Star. Though it was my personal preference, urs can be different.

Introduction

Bike sales in recent months have seen an emerging champion with Bajaj Auto’s CT 100 vaulting itself to the top of the entry-level segment. Selling close to a phenomenal 100, 000 units every month. The CT 100’s newest challenger looms large on the horizon in the form of TVS Motor Company’s all-new Star which is built to be durable and survive adverse rural settings.

Both low-priced competitors are especially important for their potential to sell in really vast numbers, thanks to their simplicity and ‘paisa vasool’ appeal.

The Verdict

Throughout this shootout, both competitors displayed diverse characteristics. Though the Star loses miserably with its conservative styling, they fought tooth-and-nail over each little victory in other parameters.

Unlike our comparison tests where we pinpoint a clear winner, here is a rare one where both bikes truly lock horns, with even their pricing being nearly equal.

We find both rivals suited to a unique user need. If you’re looking for a slightly

more stylish, upmarket-looking machine for the daily office commute, you can go in for the nimble Bajaj CT 100. If, on the other hand, you are a heavy-weight who punishes his steed and frequently rides it on highways and rural tarmac, then the rug-ged TVS Star will make a perfect companion.

TESTERS NOTES

TVS Star feels built to last and engine is silky smooth. Star sorely lacks a fuel gauge.

Switchgear quality on the CT 100 is outstanding. Bajaj CT 100 styling top-notch.

Captions:

Bajaj CT 100 a nimble handler but box-section swingarm would have helped; 99.27cc engine is efficient; Spartan twin-pod meters.

TVS Star benefits from box-section swingarm; no fuel gauge; refined 99.7cc engine.

Stylish-for-its-segment

Bajaj CT100 has well-sorted suspension and class-leading switchgear. Rear section benefits heavily from the inclusion of a tail fairing. Headlight a boon for the night rider.

TVS Star could do with better styling and looks dated. Headlight is powerful. Rear grabhandle and switchgear could surely have been better. Large rear tyre helps

Star put one over the CT 100. No frills and low-priced Bajaj CT 100 and TVS Star are worthy rivals
