Have been thinking of gifting a bike to my dad for quite sometime! CT100 happened to be an instinctive purchase rather than a researched purchase. Looks and the mileage claims went into the instinctive purchase (and also the hype it generated in 3 months). However, at the end of it, the instincts turned out perfect :)
I had to drive the bike from Hyderabad to Nagarjuna Sagar, a distance of 150kms to present it to my dad. Being a new bike I didnt want to do more than 50-55kmph but just tried to reach the maximum possible speed, doesnt seem to be crossing 75kmph, a kind of shortfall for speed lovers. But I should say that the pick-up is as good as a splendour(that I own) or actually a tad better.
I filled the full tank petrol at 150km reading and now at 450km on the speedometer, the tank is still full!! It was a very comfortable ride without much strain and in flat 3 hours a distance of 150km with a 10 min break in the middle. The first gear it seems to jump a little, young kids will love that feature but might not be elders.
And I didnt find much of use (or rather make sense) of the economy mode switch. May be if use the bike longer, it should be useful
My experiences/comments on this bike:
Style/looks : Looks as good as a executive segment bike, except the tank which is the saddest looking part of the whole bike
Features: Couldnt find any missing features compared to splendour
Mileage: Am sure I made more than 80 km per litre
Cost: With margins so less in the low end segment, the customer is benefitted and definitely a value for money. On road came to 37.5K. The dealer actually charged Rs 1000 for accessories which are of very low quality, would have procured all of them in spare parts shop for Rs400 max.
Power: Good pick-up and quite sufficient for cities
Speed: its not a racing bike to show off.
Riding comfort: good
Summary: A nice bike for my mom who is concerned about the rising fuel cost in monthly bills and a splendour equivalent for my dad.
