I’m here to try to compare the Discover 2008 new model with the previous one....
The Looks:
Discover has lost it’s simplicity. as we all know The All(?)New(!)Discover 135 DTSI has got tank mounted spoilers with integrated indicators, most of the Discover lovers may agree with me, this is the main culprit for ugly exterior. but apart from the spoiling effect it has got charming front crowl and new graphics along with the good old Discoveric shape and size.
though the spoilers spoils the macho Disco but on the other side we can extract a few positive side: the new model is rare on road till date (though it will take no time to be spread over as the product is Discover) so it surely will insist to turn the eyes on it atleast for the next few days. and as grapes are not always sour, the ’blakie’ may be already started to become to-some-extend monotonous.
New look is able to bring some kind of freshness. the 3rd point is, positionwise the indicators have less impact possibility as it will be guarded by the leg-guard, saari-guard and the handle bar ... in case the bike falls or a side collision happens. In my opinion, ’white/transparent’ rather than ’amber’ would suit better as the color of the reflector glasses.
The Good Old Reliable Heart:
i don’t want to give any specification as it can be get easily from Bajaj’s website. this engine is capable to bring all types of mental satisfaction, you have invested in a excellent product. a thousand of columns have already been written on this plus piont and you can trust those fearlessly. one will feel that there is massive potentiality under his seat as soon as he kick the starter. I can just ensure that you will get optimum performance from the machine, as it was before, whenever you want.
The Control:
The new Discover maintains the same comfort. the biking experience is so much enjoyable that one can command over the road. the sport model with disc has wider tyre, you won’t feel a single jerk even while crossing pot-holes; the grip is superb in the wet roads also; even at 45 degree angle while cornering the rider feels the bike is moving straightway.
Discovering Facts:
service of bajaj , atleast in Kolkata , is not up to the mark. the paint quality is average, whether it is the old version or new. chasis, accessories are rust prone. gear shifting is not much smooth. digital meter is a problematic facility. no helmet hook, no storage space. mileage is around 50. but,
the full chain cover, the brakes, tyres, lights, absorbers, machine, control, comfort, pickup.... the over all package with power and comfort makes Discover a worthy asset if you maintain your loving machine in a proper way.
