I have a Bajaj Discover 112 ks, purchased in 2006 from Mumbai( MH 03 – AG 1319). The machine has clocked 35000+ and I am proud to say it has proved a very good bike in terms of looks, fuel average and handling.
I was in Mumbai for one year and for three years at New Delhi. In Delhi I normally used to ride at 50 kmph(rarely between 50-60). The fuel average was around 65 kmpl. Now I have shifted to Uttarakhand and presently I am using this bike in hill terrain for about 30-35 km daily and I am very much pleased with the fuel average(around 50-55) and pickup it has while climbing even with pillion rider. Number of times(approx twice in a month) I am using this bike to visit my native place around 100 kms(one way).
I have lowered the handle bar to suit me for more control, have changed chain set twice, clutch plate once, replaced rear Tyre with Ceat tubeless to avoid complete deflating in case of puncher since I am in hills.
According to me the bike has
positives – Smart looks, excellent fuel economy, Good pickup(as compared to 100 cc),
Negatives – Needs Little extra efforts to start the engine(with choke as it is very cold here). Misleading Fuel gauge. Unresolved sound while changing gears.
