Discover is my first bike. I bought in Dec 2005. I rode it 25000 kms in year. with no special service other than oil change ever 2500 kms. the bike has consistently give 70+ kmpl mileage. my drive each day had 40%highway and 60% city condition. Infact the complete monsoon of 2006 the bike was used daily. No rusting issues . no start up problems.
Also make it wade through flooded mumbai roads. it just fainted once when moisture condensed in the fuel injection system. but came to life as soon as the contaminated fuel was drained off.
even with no disc brakes the bike has excellent braking. I almost skid the first day of purchanse ( also the first few days of my riding any bike). but throughout the monsoon no problem.
also credit to my conservative driving style. normal highway speed 60-70 kmph and city 50-60 kmph. I refuel only on 3 identified fuel station and have fed it only’ Power’(HPCL).so no change in fuel has also helped maintain the health.
only negative point is the seating which is bit hard for longer drives. whereas headlights are just okay. not too bright. I feel I made a gud choice of not going to pulsar. since my aim was economy and sturdiness. which Discover has certainly fullfilled.
so people who wish to travel at less than Rs 1.00 per km. this is the right choice.
but also caution. some friends having discover dont share the same gud luck. they faced trouble with gear shifting .
i m lucky. no problem so far.
