Hi Friends,
Last week I purchased bike Bajaj Dicover DTS-SI 100cc. I would like to share my review with you which might be useful for others.
I wanted to purchase bike with following requirements.
I found that new Bajaj Discover DTS-SI 100cc fills into all my expectations and I went for that. So far it is doing good. It is indeed light weight and can be easily managed. Fuel efficiency also seems good around 65+ KmPl. Engine noise is also low and engine seems quite smooth(especially on fifth gear). Gearbox transmission is too smooth, in fact, it is the smoothest that I have ever seen. Ride control also good and it gives decent pickup on first gear.
There are few surprises too.
Ride Control Switch:
Bajaj is giving ride control switch in this bike. When it is enabled, you can limit your riding speed to max 45 KmPh. If you exceed 45 KmPh, it produces "Tick, Tick. " sound to remind that you are going above 45 KmPh speed. It seems good when you are driving inside city(And obviously when you believe in safe driving). When you are on highway, you can simply disable this feature.
Smooth Pickup in second gear:
This bikes gives, smooth pickup on second gear too. So, even in traffic you can simply do smooth pickup on second gear when you have stopped completely.
Concerns:
To make this bike light weight, I think Bajaj has removed few metal parts with solid fiber one. This might be a concern in long term as far as reliability is concerned, if proper care is not taken and bike is used roughly.
I feel the requirement of having disc breaks here. It would have been good if disk breaks option was given.
But, overall it seems good decent bike and I can recommend it. I will do following rating for features out of 5 rating points based upon my initial experience.
Fuel Efficiency: 4.5/5
Reliability: 3.5/5
Ride Control: 5/5
Look: 3.5/5
Gearbox: 5/5
Overall: 4.3/5
I will keep on updating my experience with this bike at regular intervals & servicing periods.
