I had given a good opinion about the Discover in my first review. Even now after 5000 kms and 3 services, I am glad to say that I am getting the same milage and the same performance out of my bike. It gives me an average of 65-66 kms on crowded city roads (Bangalore) and around 67-69 kms on partly highway - partly city roads. I havnt tried on long journeys on highways. The bikes brakes are excellent. It literally stops like a rock on applying the brakes - no wavering to the sides; no draging. You need to apply both the brakes. It dives a little on the front brake, but with such a long fork it is no wonder. The gear shifts are smooth and I am surprised to read other reviews saying that they have problem with their gear box. The head lights are also bright and sufficient for night rides even outside city limits. The road grip is superb.
I wish the Bajaj guys did something about the looks especially the area near the brake pedal. They could have used the same footrest (pillion) and brake lever that is being used for the Pulser (aluminium alloy). The bike would have looked still more stylish and complete. They also could have provided a tachometer integrated with a fuel indicator like the one in Hero Honda CBZ.
