I purchased the new Bajaj Discover 135 DTSi Sports edition bike on 29th October from Sai Service, Pune for Rs. 58, 141/- on road. Before that I was using Bajaj Caliber for 9 years. I dont know why but I had developed a trust on Bajaj. Many mechanics and my friends had almost convinced to buy any bike other than Bajaj. Many of them suggested to go for TVS Flame, TVS Apache or Hero Honda Hunk. However I am not a college going guy. Though 28 yrs young I have a cute daughter of 4 yrs therefore I was looking for a decent bike with a sporty look ( so that I can flaunt when my wife is not around :p )
Anyway, let me go to features of this bike.
Engine is same old one except the wings with integrated turning indicators on the front panel. Silencer similar to Pulsar. Wheel strips. Digital speedometer with digital fuel gauge All these features are simply amazing.
Pros:
1) Sitting style and built is similar to Pulsar which is quite comfortable.
2) Does not have any early morning startup problem. I leave for office at 5AM and I start it at one-go.
3) Indicators are built with flexi plastic which does not break even if you bend it to 140 degrees.
4) Digital meters and DTSi technology.
5) The most important: I got the mileage of 72KM/litre on single seat and 65 km/litre on double seated driving. The 1st servicing is due so I hope nothing goes wrong after that.
6) Engine is as smooth and silent as a car. Simply awesome driving pleasure.
7) Braking is simply superb. (Disc break edition)
8) All black engine and mag-wheels.
Cons:
1) Poor service of Bajaj. I could not get the right rated tail lamp bulb from where I purchased this bike.
2) Pick up is slightly lesser for what u can expect from a 135cc engine may be because this is a mileage oriented bike.
3) Bajaj promised me teflon coating after the purchase but after purchasing they openly denied that they said so. Pathetic people.
I bought this bike with Grey and black combination which is the only edition in metallic finish. Rest other two colours red and blue which are simple and non-shiny.
Overall I am really satisifed with the performance and in comforts. Let me tell you that I went to buy TVS Flame and came home with Discover 135 because I discovered the flame exists only in the new Bajaj Discover 135.
Thanks,
Vivek
