My DISCOVER is One year old with 10, 000Km done.
I find it a smooth and reliable, totally happy with the bike.
Looks good.
Pulling power, cool, when you are riding above 65km/Hr, just throttle ¼ rev and you canfeel the power it has.
Fuel efficiency is remarkable with approx 60km/l city drive.
However, it is light weight; my heart beats faster than the engine at speeds above70km/hr.
So far I replced only the Horn.
Use Castrol 20w50, and There is a little secret, I have overfilled (By mistake)sump up to top of the engine sight glass and it gives a smooth riding and silentgear change.
The worse thing of being an owner of a Discover is that BAJAJ has let down us by launching PLATINA. Bajaj has no sense of 2nd Market. This Platinaeats discover’s second market.
Platina being 100cc has all the features of a 125CC class (except for the power and performance).
Bajaj already has their 100cc class (CT 100), instead of improving its 100CC class, launching Palitna with features of 125CC is an intentional effort of eating Discover’s market and let down discover owners.
Ireally wont buy a BAJAJ hereafter for this reason.
Cons
1.Design of the head light / reflector doesnt focus the beam. It spreads. I amusing 55W halogen bulb, and gives me better sight in the night.
2.Pillion rider’s foot touches silencer scratching the electro plated finishing
3.Very uncomfortable to ride with kids. Good for single or single pillion only.
4.Headlight cowling rattles at some speeds.
5.No Disc brake
6.Rider Control switch is a hoax. Not useful at all. I prefer engine kill switchinstead.
7.No proper place to carry an additional helmet.
Chain drive and timing chain needs frequent adjustings
If you ride in the rain (sometimes after servicing), it is not answering the accelarator. Delayed pickup, acceleration.
In a Foot note, envy when I see TVS Surge and Apache passing me on the road.
Sometimes I wonder whether Bajaj is loosing their position and just trying dominate 100CC range.

Dear All,
I finally managed to sell my Discovery and I am bloody glad abt it. I ran it for 15000Km, for abt 18Months, and sold it for LKR 27, 000/ less than I bought.
- Dont ever, never buy a Bajaj. They keep continue de-value what you have, unlike Hero Honda. I am glad (again) I sold it for LKR90, 000/ (i bought it for LKR 117, 000/) before they launch other DISCIVERY model in sri lanka. This is the nature of Bajaj.
First they launched Discover, spoke wheel and kick start.
Then they improve it by introducing self start, at a add cost of LKR 1500/ which caused older model to drop the market by nearly Rs20, 000/
Then the new Discover came, (what I had- alloy-self start), when this was launched 2nd hand mkt of first disovery went as low as Rs60, 000/ LKR. The proud owners had nothing but take poison.
Eh, the platina came, with alloy... My discovery market kept going down.... and adding spice, they changed the Bore, Silencer, etc.
now I see the new 135 discovery in their site, I am glad I sold my bike even for 20% less than what I bought before this is launched in sri lanka.
DONT BUY DISCOVER.
