Discover; the latest model launched by Bajaj has already crossed 1 lakh in sales.Considering the response it has got and people wanting to know everything about this piece, I decided to rate this one fairly. I got this bike 7 days back and since then has run just Around 200 kms.
Yeah I know it’s too early to give a review, but I think Majority of people don’t go into the minute details of the Specifications of the bike and in any case they are freelyavailable on the Internet now or also in the reviews posted at this site by the members.So I am making this quite simple and judge it from a layman’s point of view.
Categorization -: Positive points, Negative points and Interesting points .
This is to make people compare it with any other model easily
Positive points -:
Looks! – Each and every person including the fairer sex in my office has appreciated the look of the bike. ( I have the black color model)
Seat – I feel the seat shape of this bike is perfect
For me and not like the one on CBZ which is a pain! Very much flat seat and a little bigger in shape for the person sitting at the back
Wheelbase – It has the longest wheelbase in its category with 1305mm, thus gives more stability.
Exhaus TEC – benefits in torque output. I was amazed when I could drive the vehicle in 4th gear at the speed of 25kmph!!!!
Drum brakes – Largest in its segment. Be sure to compare it with splendor or victor , there’s a vast difference
Start – I have the model with kick start. I didn’t have to kick it twice up till now. In mornings in this cold weather too its been starting in the first kick itself.
Size- it weighs 125 kg same as that of F2 and so contrary to many people I think it’s not at all a small bike
Many other features like DTSi – digital twin spark Ignition, Twin spark plugs for faster and better combustion, Ignition with a digital C.D.I (capacitor discharge ignition) , TRICS 3 etc information on these are freely available everywhere now.
Negative points -:
Speedometer and Fuel gauge -: Visibility is poor during daylight
Tachometer -: It is missing in other models , only available with the top end model
Gears -: Dosent kick starts if not on neutral. I think every new bike should have the feature of starting in any gear. Also there is a sound when gears are changed going upwards, I will speak to the dealer during the first servicing of the vehicle.
Plastics -: The plastics used in the bike are of average quality.
Interesting points -: This bike is said to have more technology used in it as compared to any other 1000 CC Bike yeah 1000 cc bike world over. (Technology used dosent necessarily mean excellence).But it is Interesting to note that even HONDA has expertise in over 250cc engines and not below that, thus below that segment hero Honda and Bajaj have been the leaders and so it explains the export markets these companies are finding.
I have been inspecting this bike closely and the fact is there is no doubt that this is the most interesting bike that I have encountered. And the reason I say is because of the following points -:
Frame -: Frame of the bike is visible! (look closely)
Every vehicle up till now has its frame covered by the body. Thus its gives it a raw and a naked look.
Engine vibration is less because it is mounted on rubber bushes, earlier we used to do this small thing by going to the mechanic and getting the thing done.
Springs- Even the springs used are not in the similar positions as compared to others (look for the way the spring is used with the clutch ) its totally different!
Also look out for the ‘brake light switch’ how differently it is used.
Kick -: It is supported by the rubber bush so that it dosent makes a sound when used!
Even the fuel pipe is not at the proper position as in all other bikes. ( for information in most of the bikes it is situated just behind the engine, but here it is right in the middle with the engine)
Please note that all these points are not the positive points but just interesting!
It looks like the team has worked on every minute detail in designing this bike and it comes as no surprise that it took them 2 years!
