Thought I will add more points to this review:
1. About 10 months after purchase, I would say the worst part of this bike is the after sales service from Vililyanur Associates - Aakash Bajaj (Pondicherry)
2. Chain noise is persistent: I am told that all Discovers have this problems, and that’s due to the uneven vertical motion of the chain - Probably a chain spracket issue!
3. Drive below 60kmph (max), you will get close to 53kmpl
4. New additions of disc brake and alloy wheels on basic model - a major bonus - make Discover the best buy in 125cc range
5. Vibrations high at any speed between 65kmph and 75kmph
6. Spark plug needs to be cleaned a lot if you are doing 80+kmph consistently!
7. Skids easily - Road grip is surely not the best!

I bought a Discover from Viliyanur Associates (Pondicherry) this April 2005. Here is my experience on the bike and after-sales service:
1. I drive 300kms minimum 3 out of 4 weekends. Long drives had been good, no issues. But I face problems in gear shifting in the city roads. A lot of jerk while changing gears, especially the 2nd and 3rd.
2. The front headlight fibre panel starts vibrating and gives an irritating sound when you touch close to 60kmph. Service station has no solution to stop this! :(
3. Ride comfort is good, though handle bar positioning was odd initially. You will get used to it in a week or so. Bajaj was bad in shock absorbers, but I guess this one and the Pulsar variants have turned this common conception!
4. Consumption is pathetic, never close to what the company claims. 48 to 50kmpl at the max!
5. After-sales service at Vilayanur Associates is pathetic. I have completed all my 4 free services. And each time I take delivery, I have to go back with a complaint. The final checkout after service so takes about 4 hours, after resolving one complaint after another.
Its an OK bike!
