Third vehicle from the Bajaj stable

This is my third vehicle from the Bajaj stable. I bought this last week which is also the 10th Anniversary of my Caliber 115 which has covered 127000kms+ and 28th Anniversary of my Bajaj Super(owning it for past 16 years). I still have the other two with me.

Having used Bajaj for so long, I can list down some of the pros and cons as follows:

Pros:

  1. 4 valve engine - really smooth and silent

  2. DC headlamps - beam does not change with rpm

  3. Monoshock at rear

  4. Petal disc at front

  5. Twin pilot lamps - these sit outside the headlamp and hence should not burnout like in my C115

  6. Lightweight - just 125kgs

  7. Power figures are close to 150cc

  8. Haven’t had a chance to check FE yet, but it appears to be 50+

  9. Rear tyre hugger and integrated mudguard with chain cover. Useful for monsoon rides

  10. Aluminium footpegs

  11. Battery indicator

  12. Single grab rail. I don’t really like the split grab rails

  13. New alloy design, though the wheels are too narrow for tubeless

  14. Bajaj parts are cheap. The pulsar tank pad is a direct fit and costs just Rs. 80

Cons:

  1. Plastic parts appear a bit flimsy compared to my C115

  2. Tyres - Kenda brand made in Vietnam. Though I have not had any issues personally in the past week, I might change them before the onset of monsoon

  3. No tachometer

  4. Single turn indicator on console. The indicators are not visible from the sitting position, hence it would have been nice to have 2 turn indicators, one for each side.

  5. Bike is front heavy and inexperienced users may have handling issues.

I will be posting a long term review once I have a 4-digit number on the console.
