ADDING FOLLOWING POINTS AFTER 2 YEARS OF USE:
I have used this bike for more than 2 years now. Ran more than 20, 000 km.
I faced 2 problems with this bike.
1] Front suspension has become almost useless.
2] Carburetor leaking petrol for which I had to spend 2400 to replace carburetor.
I am not sure if I will continue with this bike for long.
Anybody else facing same problems?
OLD REVIEW:
I purchased this bike for an on-road price of 62k in Navi Mumbai on 6th June 2013 from authentic Bajaj Sales and Service Center.
Since the first drive, I fell in love with this bike. The sales guy, Mr. Mahesh, specifically told me not to drive above the speed of 40 - 45 till first 450 - 500 km. I resisted hard to finish the first 450 km so that I can test the high speed limits of this bike. It gave me an avg of 45 km/liter till the first servicing.
After the first servicing, the bike became super smooth. I immediately took it to the speed of 80km/hr. The engine sound changes at around 75 and becomes a little rough, but nothing to worry. Then I took it to the highway and increased the speed til 100 km/hr. This is the max speed of this bike, and the bike is pretty stable till 85 km/hr. I dont think anyone would usually drive above this speed if you are buying a 125 CC bike.
I have attached a pic of average of this bike after second servicing. I filled 1.18 liter of petrol and I ran for an amazing 62 Km. For a rough driver like me, an average of
53 is pretty decent and I am sure that the avg will increase a little after 3rd servicing. If you use castrol racer engine oil, you can get even better performance.
Handling of this bike is brilliant, I have never slipped even on sharp turns, just be careful on wet roads. The seating position is very comfortable even for long distance. I recommend to add some more cushion over the normal seat for better comfort.
I usually drive with a pillion(double seat) and I must say that the suspension is excellent for Indian roads.
After driving for a month, I understood that the gear shifting of this bike is a bit different. You have to keep the right gear at the right speed to get good performance.
1st gear for pickup .
2nd gear till 25
3rd gear from 25 to 37
4th gear from 37 to 53
5th gear for 53 and above
If you follow this, I am sure you will never face any problem with this bike. It is a superb bike in my opinion.
Just to summarize:
Pros:
handling
fuel efficiency
design/style
colors
headlight
suspension
Cons:
- Not good for very high speeds(above 80 km/hr)
You can post a comment if you have any doubt, I will be happy to help:)
