Good bike but with some problems

Bajaj Discover 150 DTSi is my first bike. I bought it from Amba Bajaj showroom, Madiwala, Bangalore. Before that I’ve driven scooter & car. It’s only been a week and I’ve driven around 210 km. I would be able to tell you better about the mileage after first service but I guess it delivers around 50+ km/l in Bangalore city. I haven’t driven it on the highway yet. Power & pick up is fine till speed of 40-45 kmph as it’s run in time and I’m not supposed to revv it beyond that.

One problem which nags me daily is the engine’s warm up time in the morning. I’ve to wait somewhere around 5-10 minutes in idling after startup before I can ride the bike otherwise the engine keeps on stalling whenever I rotate the throttle. Not sure whether this problem occurs in all bikes or specific to this bike?

The above startup problem has been resolved as of now thanks to Bajaj service.

Still the bike is far from perfect. The idling speed has been increased while Bajaj rectified the startup problem. It creates lot of noise in idling as the engine gets hot. Seems like when you decrease the idling, there is a startup problem in cold engine. If idling is increased, it increases so much as to generate unpleasant noise when the engine gets hot.

The gear transition is also not smooth. Sometimes it gets stuck while increasing the gear from 4 to 5. I’ve to be extra careful while riding the bike.
