The below review is after a 6 month/2400km .I have 8years of driving experience on(Bajaj CT 100, Hero Glamour 125CC,
Pros: 1)Rear tyre is tubeless and is like other 150cc bikes, which gives good stability 2)Braking: The front disc brake is good that gives high confidence for the rider 3)Above 60kmph the ride is very smooth. 40-60kmph is normal with a little vibration
Cons: 1)Mileage: Even though it is a 144cc vehicle and Bajajs bikes being known for giving best in class initial years mileage I never got a mileage more than 51kmpl. Many users mention that they get atleast 60kml(my showrooom person said other customers feedback is also less than 55kmpl).I wonder why such a difference in my bike mileage.
The best mileage I attained is when I drove(no pavilion rider) with at an average speed of 45kmph and atleast 70pc of drive being in top gear.
Otherwise I get a mileage of 43-46kmpl 2) Gear Box: Bajaj vehicles are known for a weak gear box and yes I too feel the same.Few times without engaging the clutch my bike gear shifts with a simple touch on the gear pedal. This happens this between 1-3 gears
I chose to take Discover 150S since I was ready for a little lower power than other 150cc, but a good mileage(around 60kmpl initial mileage) and considerably good stability
I am not satisfied with the mileage since Bajaj bikes are know for a steep drop in mileage over a period of time when compared to other manufacturers
This is the point where I felt this bike may not be a worth for the money(Bajaj bikes generally cost low in the class but maintenance costs are high in various aspects compared to other manufacturers(Eg: 1.5 times of a HERO bike in same class)
Final word: A 150CC bike with little higher pricing than other 125CC bikes with a poor mileage bike compared to other 150CC bike(Eg: Honda Unicorn and not a Yamaha FZ:P)
