Best bike you can buy for 1, 50, 000. I have bought abs version and it is running absolutely fine. I was little worried about being a totally new bike from Bajaj but this thing is just awesome. After riding it some 1000 kms, I think I can give my review on this bike.
Pros:-
.Great pick-up
.Excellent high speed stability
.Excellent cornering even though the weight is on higher side
.Nice braking power
.Great sound considering it as a single cylinder engine
.Great looking specially in day with AHO
.Exceptional build quality regarding the price.
.Great visibility at night
.Upright sitting posture for long rides. Though I feel comfortable on it( 5 feet 11 inch)
.You will get great road presence while riding this
.You will feel riding a big bike specially if you are upgrading from 100-150cc bikes
.Slipper clutch is just like awesome
.It is bajaj so you will get original spares easily and little cheap
Cons:-
.Not that much agile while cutting in roads due to weight
.Sometimes weight can become a problem
.Can become if riding though traffic for too much long time but wont stop by any means
.Gear box is good but not great.
.No gear shift indicator
.Some vibration but you wont notice much after 1st service(reduced by 90%)
Verdict:-
If you have 1.70 lakhs for spending on bike and you just want a everyday bike with power packed engine than please dont look anywhere else because this is just unmatched. You wont feel regret by any means. Highly recommended.
Some info:-
.In break-in period, you will feel the bike to be little rough, low mileage, and engine to be really hot sometime but gradually with time and service, it will reduce by a great means
.You wont feel weight while riding but when you stop, you may feel some weight, still lighter the RE.
.The build quality is exceptional. I have gone through 2 accidents with cars and believe me, the impact on cars was more than that of the bike(depends how the accident occurred)
. Mileage is between 32-35 on highways at 80-120 kms with changing rpm 3500-6500 RPM
.Top speed is by me is approx 165kmph. It can go even more.
.Seating posture is very good
.Can use many mods made excursively for KTM
How did I followed break-in period?(tips)
=> Well I have ridden many bikes and know how things have changed. To be on point
For first few hundred kms, dont go above 6000 rpm.
For the first 2000 kms or at least 1000 kms, dont ride at low rpm for too long time, downshift when engine struggle
Make sure they(service center guys) installed mineral oil for the first service
Dont ride in too hot conditions for first few kms. Heat will reduce after 1st service
Dont worry too much about engine, just drive it
Never red line or tough rev limiter(try to avoid)
Keep changing RPM. Riding in short gear at 6-7k RPM will cause engine to heat up gradually
Driving at low rev say 2-3k rpm on 6th gear at 50-60kmph speed is bad for the engine too
Give some short burst of acceleration when you get good, empty and safe road
Try not no extract max mileage for first few 1000s kms
And last try to ride in cold conditions if possible for the first 2000 kms.
Thats all for now:). Good luck for your ride.
