Gas consumption is high

I have this geyser at home and now replacing it with an electric one.

I bought this geyser solely because one of my friends highly praised about it. He mentioned it being useful even during power cuts. I found this statement true, but for the extra trouble I take in its maintenance, it is not worth.

For the uninitiated, this particular geyser was an innovative design by Bajaj since it uses LPG gas cylinder instead of electricity for heating the water. The LPG gas cylinder is placed at a convenient ventilated place and connections are made via wires to the geyser inside the bathroom. On switching on, you can have hot and warm water. It takes approximately 5mins for heating 3 ltrs of water after which the water that comes through the tap is cold. I found it equivalent to heating on a stove top.

Pros:

-Water gets quickly heated

-Can be used even if there is a power shortage.

Cons:

-Huge consumption of gas

-Have to take an alternate connection especially for heating the geyser which I feel is waste since the final price then equals electric geyser!

-A nuisance and unsafe technique for heating of water

-A small amount is heated every time which is not sufficient for a single person’s bath!

-Good Maintenance of the cylinder and the geyser has to be maintained at all times!

Last Word: Definitely Not Recommending! For the price, it is better to buy an Electric Geyser.
