I had no clue about rice cookers, and could hardly find any reviews about them. I boldly went for the Bajaj Majesty. There are a lot of brands out there, Panasonic being the more popular, probably it is the best recognisable name apart from Bajaj. But Panasonic was available in less than a 1 litre and it was lil small for 3 of us, it was pricy too, around 2000. when other 1 and half litre products were all around 2000. The cheapest among them was Majesty for just 1300 bucks.
Initially I was a bit suspicious about the low pricing, but was told that the other have a teflon coating which prevents rice from sticking, which Majesty doesnt. I did a check with people who had Panasonics, and other COATED cookers and found the sticking phenomenon was just about usage and in a matter of time, all were the same.
I decided to go for it and found it extremely good. Majestys got a innovative solution for sticking, in which a plate is provided to be placed at the bottom, and then rice put on it. It does indeed work. Now I am using it 3 times a day for the past 6 months. Its going great. I never have to be around waiting for the cookers whistle to go off or to watch over for the rice not to be burnt. Thanks Bajaj Majesty.
