False informations about mileage

The advertisements given through medias of all kinds drew my attention and made me to buy a Platina in November 2006. The bike never gave a mileage of more than 63 KMPL even after repeated periodical services by OEM’s authorized dealer/service center. Even in the summer, the choke lever had to be used for starting as in the case of cold season.

A complaint to the OEM through E.mail went in vain. Even now, the vehicle is not suitable for a steady acceleration. It jerks, it stops in the middle of the road, the acceleration reduces by its own without closing the throttle. Even for attending a tyre puncture, I didnt leave the vehicle to anybody other than the OEM’s authorized service center who really is very cordial, but every body cannot expect such services from all the dealers.

I am thankful to the General Manager, Mr.Stanley and Service Manager, Mr.Periyaswamy of M/S.KLN Bajaj, Anna Nagar for their services to the customers, which only is some releif to those who had purchased such vehicles. My advice to all is never believe any advertisements from Bajaj Auto and become a fool like my son who actually tempted me to buy a Platina Bike, watching the advertisements and baseless assurances. Now my son have opted to buy a TVS Star city bike and placed order for that. When somebody is asking whether my Platina gives 108 kilometer as given in the Ad, I simply reply that "Yes, it gives, not for One litre, but for Two litres.
