Ive been driving Platina since October 2006 and I believe this review has come too late.
I bought this Bike after I saw the fancy ad in TV , several times. The looks were killing and I was really tempted. Moreover, the mileage they promised(106Kmpl*) was even tantalizing. The traffic jams were soaring day to day and I thought I cannot shell more money on my old Bike for fuel( A Suzuki Max 100R).I wanted a Bike which can give more mileage and be light in weight.I sold off my Old Bike, Which I drove for 8+Years, for a very cheap price. With a very great enthusiasm, I drove home the new Platina. The Bike was launched just then in the market and I was proud to drive this.Initially, it gave a fantastic mileage(85kmpl)
.I was amazed and decided never to lose this vehicle. But as it grew old, I started having tough times. The services(4 Free services) were done on time and I always ride at a lesser speed(60-70kmph).Troubles started slowly. The mileage started dropping down drastically and at one point of time, it gave a mileage of only 45kmpl.I had to use a fly-over many a times near our locality.Every time when I ascend up, it does not go any faster than 40kmph.It vibrates very badly. The more I throttle, the more the vibration is.The worst thing is that you cannot overtake easily , when you start throttling. It takes many seconds to achieve the required torque. If you shift the gear one level lower, it produces a loud noise and you will fear that your gears may get damaged.Ultimately, you will always be in a dilemma to overtake or not.The case becomes even worser with a pillion rider.
I repent these days why I sold my 2S Max 100R.Though it is in the same platform(100CC), I never had any problems with pick-up or mileage.I dont feel like biking these days and wanted to go for a better Bike.Plaitna is really not worthy the money you pay.Shell out extra 20+k to get better stuff like Pulsar or a Unicorn..I am sure you would enjoy and will have fun ride.
