I am a native of trivandrum, bought my new pulsar (150) on 13th june 2011.
Till date I have done 427km on my new machine & planning to take it for the first free service 2moro. I am not good in writing reviews as this is my first attempt to explain what I have found in this new machine.
Prior to this I had a pulsar 180 (UG 3) bought in the year 2007, it was a nice bike but after an accident the bike had some serious troubles and I returned the bike to bajaj auto finance, closing d loan.
i have been using TVS RTR 160 for the last 1.5 yrs and now got the new one.
PROS:
Good looks ( even though its very common on the road these days...)
Good response from engine
Good electricals ( xpt the headlight focus & intensity )
Comfortable seat
Clip-on handle bars
Good Suspension
CONS:
Chain noise
Gear shifts, not smooth
Rear brake pedal position (little high)
Findings in the first 400 Kms : ( not sure if it is a complaint)
Engine makes noise when ridden in the speeds recommended by bajaj (all gears)
RPM (idling) increases from 1500 to 2000+ after running about 20km...
Engine overheats (maybe it will change after 1st service)
Mileage:
I think this is a good part with the bike , when I took the bike from showroom the sales-guy put a bottle full of petrol (1 ltr) and I filled for 500rs Total 1+7.58 = 8.58 lts.......it became reserve after 361 on odo.
as specified by the company the reserve tank capacity is 3.2ltr in that case bike is giving arnd 67km/L (im not sure)
When compare to 180 (UG 3) and RTR 160 :
This bike is ages behind the two....
180 better perfomance and low mileage ( personal experience) (Got arnd 48 Km/L prior to first 3 services and whn I started rippin got arnd 30 in the worst case)
RTR perfect bike for short riders ( riding posture gives back-pain on long rides) , awesome handling average mileage and good perfomance ( got around 52 Km/L initially and @ greater speeds gives arnd 35 Km/L)
P150 vs RTR 160 vs P180
*/10 9 / 10 8 / 10
im not rating 150 as its too new in the lot.
Will update after the next 500 kms
Thanks & Regards
Honey.
