Bad engine

Fuel consumption is really bad than others 150 segments bike, though the comfort is good, you can not rely it in case of bad road, its a very light waight bike and so the road grip is realy bad, you can find people are not happy.Yesterday I got my 70, 000+ kms run Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i UG-2’s ( Spoke Wheel) engine overhauled.

The mechanic opened the engine and got the following parts replaced:

  1. Timing Chain

  2. Tensioner

  3. Clutch Plates + Steel Plates

  4. Clutch Plate Cover ( Round cover with grooves in it)

  5. Both Valve

  6. Piston Rings

I also got clutch wire replaced as suggested by mechanic.

However after assembling the engine and putting Castrol Active engine oil, the response which I got was nothing great to talk about. Changing clutch plate gave good pickup, and new piston rings got me rid of smoke from exhaust at high rpm, but it was not worth the money I spend getting these things into their place. Including service charge at authorized service centre I paid something around Rs. 2600.

The problem which I realized today was when the engine was accelerated, in between 5000-6000RPM the engine would make a loud noise. Accelerating further would decrease the noise but the RPM meter would fluctuate and shomehow reach 10000RPM.

this bike.
