My first bike was a Kawasaki Bajaj RTZ which I bought when I was 21. Despite having been made with Japanese collaboration, I was disappointed that the Fuel guage stopped functioning within 3 months, the headlamps would get fused so foten and my engine seized twice (Yes I drive fast). My second bike is the current Bajaj Pulsar 180 cc which I have owned for six years now. In contrast this bike is years ahead in design. It has been truly a pleasure to own the 180cc Pulsar and rip throttle open and take off past the other commuters and bikers from a red light.
I have ridden in speeds exceeding 100 kmph and the bike hugs the ground and is very steady. The gauges all work, the lamps are still the original ones and in all these years I have had to change the batteries once. One problem though is that the cup at the end of the exhaust pipe got corroded and fell off. I got a cheap cap from the markets of Delhi and brazed it back on rather than spending another 3000 rupees for a entire exhaust pipe replacement. The newer pulsars, I am sure, even better with twin disk brakes et al.
Having had nearly 10 years of Bajaj biking experience behind me, I think I am ready for yet another upgrade.
