The Pulsar 180CC I brought (RED colour), was from the first batch received at the Dealer Here in Trivandrum.
The Bike still looks really good, even after the advent of the DTSI versions.
Compared to the 150CC, 180CC are less in quantity here on our roads, but 180CC is always meant for real bikers, Isnt it?
Now come about my Pulsar 180CC, which has done nearly 60, 000kms till date (~1200 to 1500kms per month).
The engine & Transmission: This is a killer machine eager for high revving. Really fun to drive, but the entire fun is some what reduced by the notchy, hard gear shift. The gear box ratios are excellent though. May be this has improve on the DTSI version. The earlier buyers of the Bike like me who made the product success are in tears.
The clutch is the worst thing, and the only area for me to complain, otherwise on this excellent machine. The clutch is non-progressive and will not last much. I changed the clutch plates ate 30, 000kms and I feel, the next change in on the way.
Ergonomics: The bike is really good. The seating position is near perfect compared to any bike in India (I rode most of the bikes in India). We feel that we are an integral part of the machine. This is sportier oriented. Sorry for very old!
Electricals: Good. The head light offers good spread. Here I have some complaint on the break and side stand indicator stand switches. They do not last long. If its lasts for more than 15, 000 km you have to thank the GOD!
Overall the bike is one of best the machine available in India.
Some of the negative points I mentioned are already corrected in latest DTSI avatar, but we, the early bird do get benefited from that?
Overall I give good rank for this bike, mainly because I cannot find any better one at present in India.
