I am 1 among the craziest bike fan in the country , and also a proud owner (till now ) of a Pulsar 180 classic model bike . We are a power bike users and have owned the likes of Yamaha Rx 100 , Suzuki Shoguns , Fieros , Cbz etc , But the 180 is the last one in our stable . We usually had the habit of changing bykes every 2 years or so, but this one has changed our style . Basically everyone changes his bikes when he feels some dissatisfaction in his bikes , but till now we haven’t had any of these . Since the day we started riding this bike , when occasionally we drive other bikes its feels like we r doing somehing bad to ourself . All the bikes like CBZ , Unicorn , Apache all feels like childish after riding this beast . The only one which gave me some satisfaction was the Suzuki Fiero .
We have been using this bike from September 2002 ( Actually it was a birthday gift from father ) & has coveres 40000 kms in the span of 4 & half years and still the engine rocks , Its so reliable in handling , comfort and also maintence are very much less .We still drives on facory fitted tyres, battery etc . The gears are superb , no false gears etc .Nowadays everyone complaint about bajaj gears and I must say that it is the riding habit of the users that make matters worse . Since nowadays bikes are equipped with self start and also it can be started in an gears most of them does not bother about starting in neutral and thats why the problem arises . We stop the bike in neutral only and still the gearbox is crisp and sharp .
About the mileage we are sattisfied with the 45 + mileage that it offers because power always comes with a loss in efficiency and I think its better than some 150 cc models in the country . most of our friends who have tried our bike has insisted that they r willing to buy this when we sell this one because they know that it is far more better than there 150 dtsi or unicorns , and also know that we cares and maintanes the bike well .
Our next plan is to buy a Pulsar 220 D.T.S.F.I or Yamaha fazer 250 (if launced ) but then again pulsar 220 offers more featres than Fazer and the Karizmas . But we should feel that the engine and the whole package will be bettet than our Defenitly male PULSAR 180 classic .
An advice to bike enthusiast . Let the Capacity (CC) of the bikes increase , but also increase the habit of good & safe driving for the sake of ur family and other peoples around you
