Its almost one month since I bought this bike and I have done 1000 kms. The bike is good overall but I am not satisfied that much. So far I didnt find any problems with this bike. at low revolutions less than 3000rpm the throttling is not that good I mean crispy, but once you pass 5000 rpm you will feel the real power of bike. some say that gear shifting is not smooth, but I would say it depends upon the clutch adjustments. your clutch should be made such that you are working with 1/4 of the clutch. I find the gear shifting very smooth like that of Hondas. the rear brake is not that good, you have to rely on front disc brake almost 75% when you braking at high speeds. sometimes I find false neutrals but not that often. also finding neutrals is very easy for me, it depends upon your clutch adjustments.
I was riding honda shine and HH Hunk before this bike. those bikes were very easy for me and I can go at high speed and cut across other vehicles easily but I didnt have that much confidence with pulsar initially, this may be because of the lowered handle bars of pulsar. anyway now after riding 1000 kms I am feeling comfortable with my pulsar.
I took this bike a long ride almost 120kms from chennai to mahabalipuram. This bike was awesome for long riding. Since the cross winds are too much I didnt enjoy the ride. The engine sound was not that good while riding long when compared to Honda( shine).
Overall I wanted a Pulsar 200 with FI and rear disc brake. since I didnt like the look of P220 I didnt go for it else I would have bought P220 and be the happiest man in this world. Also I recommend P220 to others than 200.
I have seen an incident and wanted to tell others about it. sometimes back a person was riding TVS Apache RTR with his girlfriend( I guess his GF):. he was kind of fast passing thro traffic and cutting across vehicles only later I saw their bike on road lying and the girl was weeping. I dont know how they have fallen from the bike. this made me to advice other guys esp driving with their girl friend to be cautious. dont show your skills and get embarrased if you have fallen.
Ride safe and happy riding.
