It’s been 1000kms, 12 days, 1 service with my P220 and here is my small review about it.
I previously owned a Rx-135… and like any other person who had owned a Yamaha, I was very reluctant to go for Pulsar. So most of my review is based on the comparison with my Rx
Things I like:
1) I was very much worried about its weight, 152Kgs as compared to 105 Kgs of Yamaha. How easy it would be to drive in city traffic….. However I was in for a pleasant surprise the vehicle is very easy to drive in city. 50% more weight is compensated with 50% more power as well… So no complaints :-) I would still think that it Rx is a real street fighter..
2) High way driving is very comfortable... The weight brings stability to the vehicle. One can cruise at 70kmph and feels like floating in the air. Because of the run in period, I cannot go more than that :-( and believe me it is very difficult to maintain that speed, and there is no vibration at all….
3) Engine and Gearbox is very refined… can be compared with Yamaha/Honda.
4) The Head light is best in its segment…
5) I am getting a mileage of approx 35kmpl in city and around 38-40 in Highway. And for the power it offers, I think anybody would accept that.
6) The soft compound tyre, gives a very good grip. You can easily feel that on the highway. You can bend at 70 on a windy road and still feel very stable on the bike.
7) And last but not the price ~81k on road.
Things I didn’t like
1) Rear view mirror is a big disappointment. Only 25% of it is useful.
2) Horn is not very much useful in highway driving.
3) Repairing of P220 is very difficult. Recently had a minor problem and only PBK centers repairs it. And there are only couple of them…..
4) Paint on handlebars is of very poor quality. Barely 10 days and the paint is already coming off.
5) Seat is very hard…
Given the price and the performance.... I think this bike is a steal… Unless the new ZMA comes with a stunner….. Or if R15 slashes its price by 25k. J
