The moment one gets the a feel of the throttle, its very hard to leave the bike without getting a feel of the ride. The pick up is awesome and much better than Karizma.I have experience on ZMA as a Rider as well as a Pillion. Karizma was weird man.I could experience vibration in the rear foot pegs as a pillion. Zma , is smooth , no doubt, but when one wants to go for sporty and hardcore biking , I recommend the Pulsar 220 Dtsi. The position is sporty and the ride is comfortable.Just lend a ear to the exhaust note of the bike and I am sure you will love it.
Pulsar brand name has fascinated me since long. This is, my first bike and I am loving it.About my ride:
The bike is rock solid @ higher speeds. You can hit the sweet spot of smoothness while riding between 60-65 Km/h and 85 - 90 Km/h. Pour the best engine oil to ripe the benefits. Pour Extra Premium Petrol(don’t hesitate in spending an excess of Rs.2/Litre, if you really want the bike to perform well, believe me, you will feel the difference). Open the throttle and the bike surges ahead, (It is a Reservoir Of Power). The exhaust note is just fabulous and you will ask for more.Treat it like your baby, follow the manual and service the bike at regular intervals. I haven’t seen many 220’s, especially blue ones, so 220 is still ahead turner.I hit the speed till 125 Km/h, and it was quite effortless. The most important thing is, one can be fearless about the bike failing at higher speeds, as Bajaj has done quite a lot research and development , since the FI version was launched.
I am basically a very conscious buyer and usually think a lot before spending a buck.I zeroed in on the Pulsar 220 Dtsi after researching a lot. In my opinion, it is a false statement that Bajaj is not reliable.I have a beautiful Chetak 1989 model in my garage and still a gives a wonderful ride.I know that it is not justifiable to compare a bike and scooter , I was just showing that you can bank upon Bajaj It all depends on how you maintain your ride.Even the Yamaha’s and HH’s can fail if proper care and maintainance is not devoted to them.I won’t speak about the drag races and which bike is faster when raced against, coz, I haven’t dragged this bike yet. But, yes I get an intuition that this can be a healthy competition to the likes of R15, ZMR or ZMA and eventually beat the pulp outta them.My personal belief is that, Pulsar 220 DTSI seriously Rocks. No hard feelings for Karizma and R15 owners. But, a pure VFM @ Rs.74500 is surely a bait to attract the bike enthusiasts and feel the range of speeds from 135 to 145 Km/h.Get it and watch the world disappearing behind when The Fastest Indian surges ahead effortlessly.
