Introduction: I bought this bike on 14th september in Hyderabad from Probiking showroom, appreciated by my colleagues after they had a small test round, I have explained them each and every new features of it, they have finally said, It has a cars features on a bike.
Fuel Consumption: Before first service I used to get 42 KMPL, now im getting close to 45 KMPL, which includes all sorts of conditions(with pillion rider(s)-my wife and son, choc-a-block traffic, straight roads). I would suggest to all readers to fill the petrol in early mornings to get a better fuel efficiency. I recommend to all Pulsar riders to use OKI O-ring chain spray for better lubrication and life of the chain and hence the added fuel efficiency and performance. I rate all 5 stars to fuel efficiency as this is a performance bike and returns a commuter bikes milage.
Reliability: Bajaj bikes are far better now when compared to past 20 years, I had a KB100 RTZ almost 20 years back which used to trouble a lot with small issues like, cables, speedometer worms, vibrations etc. I experienced a good quality bike when I bought Caliber Croma in 2001 and quality was improved further when I bought Pulsar 150 DTSi in 2004. Bottom line is price is directly propotional to the quality of the product.
Handling and Control: Handling on Pulsar 220 DTSi feels like a riding Ninjas, but only sore spot is the main stand which is compromising the overall handling of the bike, for this I visited the Probiking show room, they adjusted the rear shock absorber to harder level but still Im not satisfied with the banging of main stand on a twisties.
Control is also very good on this bike and it inspires confidence while cornering.
Looks: I would like to rate 5 out of 5 stars for the looks and its a head turner everywhere I go. Head light of this bike is a gift for a dark and pot holed roads in Hyderabad.
Verdict: An all round bike from a desi manufacturer to compete international motorbike manufacturers for a entry level performance bikes.
