In middle of Feb2009, Bajaj Auto reportedly upgraded Pulsar180 &200. Bajaj shipped these models to Pune Probiking Store for feedback/reaction from the public. Pro-Bike did not allow any one to take pictures/video of the two upgraded models.
But somehow a guy with camera phone took video and pictures and posted them on Youtube and soon the news about the upgrade spread like forest fire. XBHP, an online biking community reported 14 pages of discussions in just few minutes. There were people praising Bajaj for the upgrade and equal number of people opposing the upgrade offer.
Insane Bajaj Auto, requested XBHP to remove the Youtube link as it is secretive, they forced moderators on XBHP to remove the link and XBHP moderators advice it’s members not to open the link, somehow even the video on You tube also disappeared all of a sudden. Only to be visible after few days, again there was some discussion on the upgrade on XBHP, again the link went off the site and also on you tube.
Bajaj Auto if they wanted public not to ses it or discuss it, should not have brought the upgraded models to a public place like Pro-Biking Showroom. Bajaj is indirectly creating hype of the products using cheapest means and getting the feel of the prospective buyers.
In the process, the Pro-bike employee who ’supposedly’ allowed filming is sacked by Bajaj Auto for no fault of his. XBHP under the influence of Bajaj Auto too sacked few well mannered members of XBHP community, hence shutting people’s voice.
Bajaj auto doesn’t care to respond to numerous complaints about their products on various forums, but sacking an employee of Pro-bike for no mistake of his plus forcing XBHP moderators to sack some members based on their critics is totally SHAMEFUL and UNWARRANTED.
Bajaj Auto is going to lowest/cheapest levels to make their products visible to consumers. Many members on XBHP are hurt at the turn of events and many are of opinion that they would not buy a Bajaj products in future.We the people/consumers should NOT CONSUME products of Bajaj and protest Bajaj Auto’s HITLER’s type of policies in an era of webworld and free press.
